1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how the Kryo mobile application and this Kryo support website handle information. It covers the native Kryo experience on supported mobile platforms, the startup configuration request, optional websites displayed inside the app, and support communications.
“Kryo,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Kryo app team. The application is a general-purpose cryptographic and encoding utility and does not require a Kryo account.
2. Native cryptographic and encoding tools
Text, passwords, keys, salts, and results used in Kryo’s native cryptographic and encoding tools are processed on your device. Kryo does not transmit this native-tool content to our servers.
Some operations use secure randomness supplied by the operating system. The result may be different each time when an operation intentionally generates a random salt, nonce, or key pair.
Legacy algorithms
MD4, MD5, SHA‑1, and Hyper are included for compatibility. Their presence does not mean they are recommended for new security-sensitive uses. Safety labels and warnings are part of the app interface.
3. Information stored locally
Kryo may store the following information in private app storage on your device:
- language and appearance preferences;
- the “Remember Inputs” setting;
- recently opened tools;
- eligible local result history and favorites.
“Remember Inputs” is off by default. Sensitive encryption, HMAC, password-derivation, and RSA operations are not eligible for saved history or favorites. Your operating system controls access to private app storage and device backups.
4. Network access and startup configuration
At startup, Kryo monitors network availability and sends an HTTPS request to a configuration service. The request uses a fixed application configuration identifier and a general app User-Agent. It does not include text, passwords, keys, salts, or results from native tools; feedback text or photos; an advertising identifier; or a Kryo-created device identifier.
The configuration service and its infrastructure providers may process ordinary technical data such as IP address, request date and time, network headers, response status, and security logs to deliver, maintain, and protect the service.
If no network is available, Kryo waits and retries the startup flow after connectivity returns.
5. Optional web content
The startup configuration may direct Kryo to show a website in the system WebView. Optional web content is separate from Kryo’s native tools. A displayed website may use JavaScript, cookies, browser storage, media, authentication flows, and user-initiated file selection.
Information you enter on a displayed website is handled by that website’s operator and is subject to its privacy policy and terms. The website may also receive standard browser and connection information. Review the website’s policy before entering personal or sensitive information. Kryo does not control an independent website’s availability, content, security, or data practices.
6. Camera, photos, and feedback
Kryo requests camera access only after you choose to take a picture for feedback. Photo selection uses the operating system’s picker so you can choose specific images without granting unnecessary broad library access where the platform supports it.
The current feedback screen has no submission server. Selecting Submit displays a local success confirmation; the issue description, email address, and selected images are not uploaded by the native feedback screen. We will update this policy before enabling a remote feedback-submission service.
For support sent by email, your email provider and our email provider process the message, address, metadata, and attachments needed to deliver and respond to it. Do not include passwords, private keys, recovery phrases, or unredacted confidential data.
7. Sale, sharing, and service providers
Kryo does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. The native app contains no advertising or behavioral analytics SDK.
Service providers may process limited information when needed to provide configuration delivery, website hosting, email delivery, and infrastructure security. Independent websites or external apps you choose to open operate under their own policies. Information may also be disclosed if required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, rights, safety, or the service.
8. Retention and deletion
Local settings and eligible saved results remain in private app storage until you change them, clear local activity, clear app data, or uninstall Kryo. Temporary files may remain in the app cache until the operating system removes them, you clear app data, or you uninstall the app.
Ordinary configuration-service logs and support emails may be retained only as reasonably needed for service operation, security, legal obligations, and responding to your request. Kryo has no user account or Kryo cloud vault to delete.
9. Security
Kryo uses on-device processing for native tools, operating-system private storage for local records, HTTPS for the startup configuration request, and platform security APIs for cryptographic operations where available. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for securely storing passwords and private keys required to decrypt your own data. Kryo cannot recover them if they are lost.
10. Your choices and controls
- Change the app language and appearance in Settings.
- Keep “Remember Inputs” disabled or clear local activity.
- Decline camera access and use the app without taking a feedback photo.
- Select only the photos you want to make available.
- Stop using optional web content or review the website operator’s privacy choices.
- Clear app data or uninstall Kryo to remove locally stored app information.
You may contact us about a privacy question using the address below. Because Kryo has no user account and native tool inputs are not uploaded to us, we generally cannot identify or retrieve that local content.
11. Children’s privacy
Kryo is a general-purpose technical utility and is not directed to children under 13 or the equivalent minimum age in the user’s jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the native app.
12. This support website
This static support website does not include advertising or analytics scripts and does not create its own account cookies. It stores only your language preference in browser storage. Your hosting provider may process standard connection logs or apply strictly necessary security measures according to its own policy.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Kryo’s features, legal requirements, or data practices change. The effective date at the top will be revised. We will update the policy before enabling a material new practice such as remote native feedback submission.
The Chinese translation is provided for convenience. If the English and Chinese versions conflict, the English version controls to the extent permitted by applicable law.
